Members Open Barn Doors

They came from near and far to visit some of the most elite and progressive Holstein breeders in Huron and Bruce counties. On February 23, 2010, the Ontario Holstein Branch held their annual Farm Tours in conjunction with their Annual Meeting. The host venue for the meeting this year was the famous Ben Miller Inn, in Goderich, Ontario. Once all guests were settled in, they climbed into their vehicles, pulled out their trusty map books and turned on their GPS systems to find the 15 farms that were hosting the 2010 tours. 

Many Gay Lea Foods Co-operative members were host farms for this tour. A big “thank you” to the following farms for opening their doors to so many visitors on February 23, 2010: Glen, Vanda & Curtis McNeil, Paul & Ellen Gibbings, Perry & Wendy Van Osch, Charles Albrecht, Mike Haelzle, Jeff & Dan Bross, Chancy & Kelly Burgess, Aaron, Steve & Karen Ruetz, David & Annamae Kieffer, Bevan & Heather Weber, Cameron & Tammy Hickling, Kevin & Dean McKee and Wayne & Cindy Whytock & Family.

Many tourists also had an opportunity to co-ordinate a visit to the Teeswater Country Store and purchase some wonderful Gay Lea products while on their tour route. Gay Lea was proud to partner with Ontario Holstein as a sponsor of this event.
